Matt wanted a pig for a logo. He looks oddly familiar. I hope I didn’t subconsciously steal him from somewhere.
Matt wanted some longer appendages, and wanted him to be less bank-shaped, and more pig-shaped. The curvature of his body is actually pretty off, but I`ll fix that later.
Oinkers™ now has a perfectly pig shaped body.

No matter how tired or exasperated you are, telling your kids to do things just because you said so needs to be a last resort. That’s not to say that everything is always age appropriate, and that everything should be explained, but it’s effectively your trump card that says, hey, I’m older and more experienced, and right now isn’t the time to explain why you have to do this. If you pull this out for just anything, you start losing credibility.

As my friends know, I much prefer cats over dogs. Dogs are like helpless children, and I guess that’s part of their charm. Cats however, are independent, and that more than makes up for it. You can spontaneously leave your house for a week, and your cat’s going to be fine. Maybe it’ll be a while before your cat returns, but you can have it on good authority that he’s not dead in a ditch somewhere. Your dog will have died around day 2. Cats are clean, dogs are messy. Cats come out of the oven litter-box trained. There are probably 50 more reasons why cats are better, but dogs have one huge redeeming quality that would make me consider them over cats. You can ride them!I don’t mean now, but at some point if I have kids, I would let them ride the dog. I was feeling artistic last night, so I drew what this would look like:

I don’t really know what style of drawing would match the dog, so the kid is just an amorphous blob.

I’ve always had a soft spot for time travel stories, but I’ve only recently encountered this new genre of time-travel-predestination-paradox-romance. I’ve recently read the time traveller’s wife, and watched an episode of Flashforward featuring this awesome new literary sub-genre, which is pretty much the most romantic storyline imaginable.

So our main characters get a glimpse into their future, and see themselves with the love of their life. People they wouldn’t and probably couldn’t have met otherwise. With the knowledge of their existence and the realization of how happy they make our time travellers, they start their extensive quest to find them in the present. They always do find them, their meeting is destined and set in stone in the space-time continuum.

How special and the level of uniqueness of a relationship is one of the major determining factors in how romantic a story is. Noah tells Allie their life story, and miraculously brings back her memory, despite the doctors telling him how improbable it is. Romeo and Juliet have destiny and their entire world conspiring against them. But that stuff still pales to the predestination love story. If you think about it, the relationships in these time travel stories shouldn’t exist. The couples only meet because they saw their future selves. But their future selves couldn’t ever have existed if they hadn’t seen their future, in the past. The series of events are circular, with no beginning, and thus are completely impossible. Their relationship is SO special, that it defies the laws of the universe, and that is the most romantic thing I have ever heard.
